Activity In June 2025

Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I thank God that He still gives me the opportunity to continue preaching His gospel to Bible-studying prospects.

Here are some of the work I did in June 2025.

Servant Training Class

Every Sunday evening I conduct a 2-hour church minister training class for the orphanage children in preparation for Sunday worship. Because some of them already take part in worship services, such as: Leading the Singing, Praying, Lord's Supper, Offering, and Congregational Message. I train them how to lead the singing with enthusiasm to keep the congregation energized while singing, and so on. Therefore, I always train, handle them to continue to perform bravely and well. They are the next generation of the Church of Christ on Nias Island, of course they are needed for the leadership of local rural congregations.

Sermon at Church of Christ in Gunungsitoli

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, I was given the opportunity by the Gunungsitoli Church of Christ to deliver a sermon to the congregation. I was delighted to share God's Word, and this was also a chance for me to grow in my understanding of God's Word. The topic of my sermon was “Commitment to Following Jesus,” with several key points: 1) Following Christ personally; 2) Following Christ through sacrifice; 3) Following Christ with a purpose; 4) Following Christ with a steadfast heart. These were the main points of the sermon I delivered. I hope that through the sermon I shared, every church member who heard it will understand and put it into practice in their daily lives. In June, I was given the opportunity to preach twice. I was very happy because many guests came to worship during my sermons. I hope that the guests who attended this service will continue to come to church.

Teaching Prospects

On June 8, 2025, I taught the Bible using the Seeking Truth (MK-1) method to Dinda and Mei at the orphanage. They are students and also children of the orphanage. They are also members of the Church of Christ congregation but have not yet been baptized and wish to be baptized. Before their baptism, I teach them the basics of the Bible first so they can better understand and grasp its teachings. I teach them using the “Seeking Truth” (MK) method, and this lesson consists of lessons 1-10. This method is called “Fishers of Man,” and I have completed this training five times and obtained a certificate while studying at the North Sulawesi School of Bible Studies (NSSBS) in Manado, North Sulawesi. “Fishers of Man” is very helpful for teaching people about the Bible because the advantage of this method is that the lessons are very systematic and easy to understand.

This photo is a continuation of lesson 1, seeking the truth with Mei and Dinda. Now we are moving on to lessons 2 and 3 with the topics, “Is the Bible from God?” and lesson 3 on, “Are the laws of the Torah still valid?” They are very enthusiastic about studying the Bible. We pray and hope that they will understand and grow spiritually.

This photo is a continuation of lesson 3, seeking truth together with Mei and Dinda at the orphanage. Now we are moving on to lessons 4 and 5 with the topics, “The Law of Moses” and lesson 5 on, “What is the big problem of mankind?” They are very enthusiastic about studying the Bible. We pray and hope that they will understand and grow spiritually.

On June 9, 2025, Nove, an orphanage child, and I taught the Bible using the Seeking Truth (MK-1) method to Depi, the son of Mrs. Depi, the caretaker of the Yokhebed orphanage in Gido. Depi is a first-year high school student in Gido and also helps his mother take care of the Yokhebed orphanage in Gido. They are not yet members of the Church of Christ congregation and have not been baptized, but they wish to be baptized. Before their baptism, I taught them the basics of the Bible first so they could better understand and grasp its teachings. Praise the Lord! We have completed the “Seeking Truth” (MK-1) method, or Lesson 1. There are approximately nine more sessions remaining, as this course consists of ten lessons.

This photo is a continuation of Lesson 1, seeking the truth with Depin, the son of Mrs. Depin, the caretaker of the Yokhebed orphanage in Gido. We moved on to Lessons 2 and 3 with the topics, “Is the Bible from God?” and Lesson 3 on, “Is the Law of Moses still in effect?” Depi and his mother are very enthusiastic about studying the Bible together. We pray for Depi and her mother and hope that they will make the decision to be baptized.

This photo is a continuation of Lesson 3, seeking truth with Depin, the son of Mrs. Depin, the caretaker of the Yokhebed Orphanage in Gido. We continue to Lessons 4 and 5 with the topics, “What is sin?” and Lesson 5 on, “How do I obey the Gospel?” Depi and his mother are very enthusiastic about studying the Bible together. We pray for Depi and his mother, and hope they will decide to be baptized.

This photo was taken when I was teaching Mrs. Depi and her daughter in Gido about the method of seeking truth in Lesson 6, “Baptism According to the Bible.” Every Monday, I go to Gido to teach them about the Bible, spending more than an hour each time to study the Bible together with them. I am happy because their enthusiasm for learning is extraordinary.

Children's Bible Class at the Dormitory

Every month I teach a Bible class for children at the Dasami Dormitory. In June, I taught the first class. Every month, I take turns teaching with Mr. Halawa so that the dormitory children don't get bored attending every class. In June, I taught the first class on the topic, “Easter?”, along with several sub-topics, including: What is the meaning of Easter? What is the purpose of Easter? Why don’t Christians tie up Christians today? We discussed these points together in class. I was happy to see the children during class because of their enthusiasm and focus. They truly respect their teachers and enjoy every lesson taught. I hope they will continue to grow spiritually so that one day they will become members of the Church of Christ.

In this second photo, I am teaching second graders and college students. In June, I taught second graders and college students on the topic, “Easter?”, along with several subtopics, including: What is the meaning of Easter? What is the purpose of Easter? Why don’t Christians tie up Christians today? We discussed these points together in class. I was happy to see the children during class because of their enthusiasm and focus. They truly respect their teachers and enjoy every lesson taught. I hope they will continue to grow spiritually so that one day they will become members of the Church of Christ.

In the third photo, I am teaching children at an orphanage. In June, I taught junior high and high school students on the topic of “Easter,” along with several subtopics, including: What is the meaning of Easter? What is the purpose of Easter? Why don’t Christians tie up other Christians today? We discussed these points together in class. I was happy to see the children during class because of their enthusiasm and focus. They are all members of the Christian church from the villages. We continue to pray for their physical and spiritual development and growth.

Evening devotions together

On June 1, 2025, at the Boys' Dormitory, specifically Anggrek B, we held evening and morning devotions together with the dormitory children. Previously, I had made a schedule for evening and morning devotions to be held alternately for them. The goal was to train them to read the Bible and pray. In the devotions, we began by reading the Bible from the Book of Psalms, and hoped that this could be completed. After the Bible reading and prayer, I usually remind the children to continue following the dormitory rules both inside and outside the dormitory, especially regarding negative behaviors such as smoking, drinking alcohol, fighting, and so on. Because whatever happens to them, the primary person responsible is the dormitory supervisor, not the parents

Bible Quiz

Every Bible study meeting for the first year of the dormitory children. I always conduct a Bible quiz in every meeting. For the Bible quiz, I gather facts and figures from the Bible over a period of five months. Although some of them still lack knowledge about general facts in the Bible, this Bible quiz also offers a prize of Rp250,000 for the first-place winner as an incentive. The purpose of this Bible quiz is to encourage them to study the Bible personally and to develop their faith in God.

Bible Quiz Prize Giving

This is the documentation of the award ceremony for the Bible quiz prizes given to the first-year boarding school students: Fera, Krisdayanti, Martinus, and Deserman. They are the winners of the 2025 Bible quiz. This activity is conducted at every Bible class meeting. The purpose of the Bible quiz is to encourage them to study the Bible personally. Thank you to the donors and the chairman of the Dasami Dormitory Foundation for providing support and encouragement to us as Bible teachers to continue this activity.

Sharing Written Bible Courses

At every Bible study meeting with the boarding school children, I distribute spiritual tracts for them to work on while increasing their knowledge of God's Word. Lessons 1-7 have already been completed at the boarding school. Over the past two months, approximately 13 people have completed the written Bible course and will now be awarded a written Bible certificate as a reward. Let us pray for them to grow spiritually and be willing to open their hearts one day to be baptized for the path of salvation.

Checking Written Bible Courses

Every written Bible course is completed by the first- and second-year students at the special dormitory, and I always check each completed lesson. Some do well, while others do not. This is not a problem; that is the purpose of learning. I always provide motivation and full support to them both at school and at the dormitory. We hope and pray that the dormitory students will grow spiritually.

Community service at Dasasami Dormitory

On June 2, 2025. Before that, the Dasami dormitory children had a long holiday this month. I invited the dormitory children to use this time to work together to clean the lower floor and second floor of the dormitory, including: clotheslines, windows, beds, and bathrooms. The purpose is to maintain the cleanliness and durability of the dormitory for future use. Cleanliness is part of faith! We continue to carry out this activity every month, even in the Anggrek B Dormitory around 4 or 5 times more frequently.

Distributing Spritual Tracts

In addition to distributing spiritual tracts to boarding school students who are not members of the Church of Christ in Gunungsitoli, I continue to regularly distribute spiritual tracts to people I meet while shopping at Indomaret, Alfamidi, and other stores. I get to know them by asking about their background and where they are from. They receive me warmly. This month, I have distributed around 40 tracts. I always hope and pray that the tracts I have shared will help them to understand the Bible well through reading, and that one day they will open their hearts to learn face-to-face.

Cleaning the Church Environment

On June 15, 2025, I always accompany the boys from the Anggrek B dormitory to clean the place of worship before the service begins. This activity is carried out in rotation with the boys from the Anggrek A dormitory. While the dormitory children are cleaning the church environment, I continue to supervise and monitor this activity on Sunday mornings so that everyone is involved in cleaning the church environment.

Dasami Dormitory Supervisory Meeting

On June 16, 2025, the Dasami dormitory supervisors and the chairman of the Dasami Foundation held a meeting at the church to discuss the selection process for new dormitory children in 2025. Following that, we hung up banners for the event. The event will take place from June 17 to 19, spanning three days. We hope and pray that many new children will join the dormitory. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the donors of the Dasami Foundation for supporting this event.

Photos of Supervisors

After we finished selecting the Dasami boarding school children, the supervisors captured this moment with a group photo as a memento. We are very happy with this activity; everything went smoothly without any issues. Thank you to the donors who always support this activity. God bless you.

Baptism

Luke 15:10 (KJV)  Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Praise God! On Sunday, June 29, 2025.

After teaching the prospects about the method of Seeking the Truth from lessons 1-6 (about baptism), and the remaining 4 lessons, they decided to be baptized. So, on Sunday after the service, I baptized them together with the congregation members who were present to witness it. I was very happy because

this was good news. After they were baptized, I discussed with the ministers about continuing to serve them every Sunday by visiting their homes. Additionally, I will conduct a special Bible class for new converts titled “Firm Faith” to help their faith grow. Welcome to the kingdom of God, Sister Depi, along with her two daughters and Mei. May God bless you all.

After they have also been baptized, I will continue teaching Bible lessons 7-10 on "Should I become a member of a church?”, then lesson 8 on “Am I in the right church?”, lesson 9 on “Am I a true disciple of Christ?”, and lesson 10 or the last lesson on “What about speaking in tongues?”. I kindly request the support and prayers of donors to continue supporting my evangelistic work. Please pray for the health of my wife, who is currently pregnant, so that the delivery goes smoothly.

This is my work report for June 2025. May God's grace always be with me as I carry out my missionary work in Nias. And may souls be saved. Amen.

I kindly request prayers, support, and assistance from donors to support my missionary work in Nias, in addition to my role as supervisor of the Dasami dormitory. May God bless the donors and fellow believers of the Church of Christ in America.
