Activities in April 2025

Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I thank God that He still gives me the opportunity to continue preaching His gospel to Bible-studying prospects.

Here are some of the work I did in April 2025.

Pick Up Family in Village to Accompany Wife

Before I went to Batam, I picked up my family from the village to accompany my wife in the dormitory. Because the dormitory where I supervise is all male. So I needed my family to accompany my wife during the week I was in Batam. After I returned from Batam, I took my wife's family back to her hometown, which is about 3 hours from Gunungsitoli city.

The Journey of the Evangelists to Batam

On April 4, 2025. I and other evangelist friends left for Batam to attend brother Scot Cate's class. The class will last for 1 week. During the trip, I and the other evangelists really enjoyed it, especially since it was my first time in Batam. Of course, this was a valuable experience in my life's journey to do God's glorious work. Hopefully, classes like this will be held again. Because this class is very useful for knowledge of the truth of God's word.

Taking Classes in Batam

During the 4-day class held in Batam, the instructor was brother Scot Cate, where the class material discussed the book of Genesis chapters 1-11 about the early history of creation. Personally, I really enjoyed the class and the material presented because there is new knowledge about the truth of God's word. For me, this includes future capital to continue to preach the gospel and reach lost souls as the great commission in the book of Matthew 28: 19-20.  Thank you brother Scot Cate, as well as Mother Tracey Cate, for the material presented and the special invitation for me to be able to come to Batam because this is my first time coming to Batam. I hope this program will continue to be followed up because for me personally this class is very helpful to grow in knowing the truth of God's word. God bless brother Scot Cate's family. Amen!

Servant Training Class

Every Sunday evening I conduct a 2-hour church minister training class for the orphanage children in preparation for Sunday worship. Because some of them already take part in worship services, such as: Leading the Singing, Praying, Lord's Supper, Offering, and Congregational Message. I train them how to lead the singing with enthusiasm to keep the congregation energized while singing, and so on. Therefore, I always train, handle them to continue to perform bravely and well. They are the next generation of the Church of Christ on Nias Island, of course they are needed for the leadership of local rural congregations.

Night Devotions

Night and morning devotions were continuous. The aim is to train the children to read the Bible and pray. In Anggrek B special dormitory, a schedule of night and morning devotions has been made. So everyone takes turns to take part and lead the devotions starting from first year, second year, and even college kids. After the devotion activity is over, I always remind the children to continue to pay attention to the rules that apply in the Dormitory related to the rules of worship, cleanliness, mutual cooperation, and other rules that apply for their comfort and good. And I always encourage them to utilize their study time in their rooms, read books, do their schoolwork, and read the Bible. My wife and I really hope that they will become successful and useful people in the midst of the nation and state.

Mutual cooperation in the dormitory

I invited the dormitory children in April to keep cleaning the environment in the dormitory so that it is clean and beautiful to be seen by the surrounding community. Cleanliness is part of faith! Then we cleaned the gutters, water reservoirs because it had not been cleaned for several months, triggering a lack of smooth water. There were some water pipes that were replaced because they could not function and made the water unable to function as much as possible, especially on the second floor. Some damaged pipes have been replaced with new ones.

Prayer Visit

On Monday. One of the congregation members came to Mr. Halawa at the Orphanage to inform him that a family member was sick. They asked the servants of the Gunungsitoli Church of Christ to pray for the family. At the time, Mr. Halawa was unwell and could not visit the family. My brother Suma and I went there to pray for the family who were temporarily sick. We met the family and they welcomed us warmly. We hoped that their parents, who were temporarily ill, would recover quickly. May God bless!

Attending School Farewell

I attended an invitation to say goodbye to the school from the third-year class who were graduating from the boarding school because the parents and families of the students were traveling from Gunungsitoli city to their hometowns. This year, especially in Anggrek B Dormitory, there were about 6 people who graduated from high school. After finishing the school farewell activity, some of them immediately returned to their hometowns because the contract letter for their stay in the dormitory had expired. There were several families who came to the dormitory to pick them up and expressed their gratitude to the supervisors, brother Scott Cate and his family, and the donors of the Dasami Gunungsitoli Dormitory foundation for helping and easing their burden on their children to be able to study in the city. And the parents really hope for this boarding school to continue to exist because for them this is very helpful. May God bless the donors and the family of brother Scott Cate.

Dormitory children's Bible study

Every month I teach Bible class to the children of Dasami Dormitory for the month of April teaching the second year. Previously, I taught the first year class for Bible class. Every month I rotate teaching with Mr. Halawa so that the children of the dormitory don't get bored attending each class. This April, I taught the second year class on the topic, “What is the church of Christ?”, with several sub-themes including: When did the church start? Why would someone want to be a member? How does one get into the church? What is the work of the church? What is church worship? Who is the head of the church? The purpose of the church? We discussed these points together in class. I was happy to see the children during class because of their enthusiasm and focus. They really appreciate the teacher and like every lesson that is delivered. I hope that they will continue to grow spiritually so that one day they will become members of the Church of Christ.

Orphanage Children's Bible Class

Every Wednesday in April 2025, I taught a Bible Study (PA) class, to the children of the orphanage on the topic, “A New Way of Life”. This lesson is very useful to teach them because as Christians, we must be determined to avoid the sinful practices of the world. Some of the things that are widely practiced and recognized in the world are things that do not characterize the Christian life, especially in the areas of fun, entertainment and recreation. Therefore, we are determined to avoid such things. The children were very enthusiastic and eager to learn the Bible during the class. We pray for their growth in the knowledge of God's word.

Thus is my work report in April 2025. May God's providence always accompany me in doing noble work. And hope that there are souls that are won. Amen.
